The YOUNG LIONS SOCCER ACADEMY is a developmental program designed to teach U5 through U8 players the basic fundamentals of soccer. The program focuses on player development using a fun and creative curriculum. The professional staff of Admiral Elite F.C., along with players from the Albuquerque Asylum semi-professional soccer team will assist with practice sessions.

The program includes 8 week fall and 8 week spring training sessions. The sessions are held every Monday and Thursday, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday sessions will take place at Academy Hills Park (Eubank and Juan Tabo); Thursday sessions will take place at Wildflower Park (Alameda and San Mateo, near Balloon Fiesta Park). Fall sessions will commence on August 27, 2007, and Spring sessions will commence on February 18, 2008. The program includes 8 inter-club small sided games, held on alternate Saturdays (venue TBA).

The total cost of the program is $200, which includes Duke City fees, T-shirt and uniform. For U-7 and U-8 players desiring to form teams to participate in the Duke City Soccer League schedule, the total cost is $300.

  • Provide the best possible coaching instruction to build players to their full potential.
  • To teach proper technique, and instill good soccer habits.
  • Use age appropriate and inclusive activities for all participants.
  • Develop a love for the sport by using a fun and creative curriculum.
  • Create a positive and safe atmosphere for players to learn soccer.
  • Educate players in basic soccer terminology.
  • Develop an understanding of all the essential elements of the game of soccer.
